Whether you have landed at the international terminal (MMIA) or the domestic terminal (MMA2, Ikeja), reaching Ogba should take 25 to 40 minutes. This guide is what we tell first-time guests before they arrive at Duban International Hotel.

Know your terminal

MMIA handles international arrivals (British Airways, Turkish, KLM, Emirates, Ethiopian, etc.). MMA2 is the modern private domestic terminal used by Air Peace, Ibom Air, Green Africa and Overland. The old GAT (General Aviation Terminal) handles the remaining domestic flights. All three sit inside the same MMA airport complex in Ikeja.

Distance and route to Ogba

• Distance: ~9 km to Aguda Ogba
• Travel time: 25 minutes off-peak, up to 60 minutes in rush hour
• Preferred route: Airport Road → Agidingbi → Acme Road → Ogunnusi Road
• Rush-hour alternative: Airport Road → Oshodi-Apapa Expressway → Ikeja-Along → Ogunnusi Road

Transport options, ranked

1. Hotel airport transfer (recommended)

Arranged in advance with our concierge. A driver meets you at arrivals holding a Duban International Hotel sign. Fixed price, no negotiation, vehicle already known to the hotel. Best for late-night arrivals and first-time visitors.

2. Ride-hailing (Bolt, Uber, inDrive)

Works well from MMA. Order the ride from inside the terminal (Wi-Fi is available); walk out to the designated pickup zone; confirm the driver's name and number plate before entering. Rates are transparent and payment can be cash or card.

3. Airport taxi

Yellow airport taxis are regulated and safe but you must agree the fare before boarding. Expect to pay a premium compared to ride-hailing.

4. Public transport

BRT and danfo buses exist but we do not recommend them for travellers with luggage or those unfamiliar with the city.

Practical tips

• Have small naira notes (₦500, ₦1,000) ready for tips and small purchases.
• Buy a local SIM (MTN, Airtel or Glo) at the airport — data is cheap and essential for ride-hailing.
• Do not accept help from strangers with your luggage until you are past the arrivals hall.
• Confirm your driver's number plate matches the app before entering.
• If you arrive between 4 PM and 8 PM on a weekday, expect heavy traffic. Order a coffee at the terminal and set off after 8 PM if you can.
